1. At what temperature does PMIC stop working?

2. If it stops working at any specific temperature then will it get started working by its own after temperature gets decreased? If gets started by its own then what should be the ideal temperature it will start working again?

3. Is PMIC threshold temperatures ( THERM110, THERM120, THERM125, and THERM130 ) configurable? Can I set any threshold value from these 4 values? By writing into INTSESNSE0 register?

You should pull up this pin to VSNVS or other high level,if PWRON is low PMIC will stay OFF.

[Akash] No, it is not get started below this 140° or any value below this. At room temperature also it is not getting started by its own. On a manual power cycle, it is getting started. So, do we need to power cycle every time when it(PMIC) gets shutoff by itself? OR will get started by itself?

When the temperature drop down below the protection threshold(140℃)，it will automatically recovery!

As of now, it is not getting recovered automatically. I have waited for almost 2 hours to get it started but it is not starting automatically Power cycling is needed to get started.

Is there any configuration in any of the registers or anything else I need to set or configure to get PMIC restarted automatically?

I don't have EVB of PF3001 but I try it in EVB of PF3000,it can recovery automatically after over temperature protection happened,PF3000/1 have same function about over temperature protection event.

Hi guoweisun ,

I am taking this case further on behalf of akashnair316@gmail.com .

Issue:

As discussed earlier, we are not able to recover automatically after thermal protection event and we need to manually power on the system everytime, which is the major blockage for us.

Observation:

Based on our observations, SNVS supply is giving proper voltage in thermal protection state and rest of the supply are in OFF, so the processor is not in ON state. Here we are waiting for pmic to go below threshold and restart the processor again, however it is not happening.

Workaround:

If we connect the "PWRON" pin with external pull-up or SNVS supply, then the PMIC recovers automatically after going below thermal protection threshold and restarts the processor.

1) Is it necessary to connect the "PWRON" to external pull-up?

2) If yes, then can we have such information located in datasheet? Any recommended pin configuration for thermal protection recovery?

I have attached the below screenshot showcasing our current schematic design of PMIC with i,MX6ULL.
