How to create a custom RCW for P5040DS-PB

Hi,

    As part of the QorIQ sdk(v2.0) installation using bitbake , I got the default RCW binary(rcw_26g_2267mhz.bin) for P5040DS-PB system. Now I want to create a custom RCW that should incorporate changes to some of the bit settings of first 512bits( 0-512bits) of the RCW register bits. 

Please suggest how to create a custom rcw.

Refer to the SDK Documentation, Extract Source Code:
https://freescale.sdlproducts.com/LiveContent/content/en-US/QorIQ_SDK/GUID-891F9B61-E7D5-46C2-9BFA-6...
and execute steps 1-3 for the "rcw" packade-name.

4. Modify RCW configuration file in p5040ds/RR_XXSNSpP_0x02
5. Rebuild RCW with the command
 $ bitbake rcw

        Does the 'Slot number' correspond to the the document ?

In my case I am using "x1 PCI Express 2 on Lane E". What would be the configuration for that. The document does not say about "x1 PCIe" configuration.

Please refer to the P5040 RM, Table 3-15. P5040 SerDes Lane Multiplexing/Configuration to select correct SRDS_PRTCL.

                 The document is "QorIQ-SDK-2.0-IC-Rev0.pdf" section 4.4.10.5 RCW(Reset Configuration Word) and Ethernet Interfaces. Here what does the slot correspond to ?

Your point well taken. I have referred P5040RM Table 3-15.

Please help me understand how does the default RCW ( RR_XXSNSpP_0x02 ) file maps to P5040RM Table 3-15 with respect to SRDS_PRTCL 0x02. 

Please bear with me as the things are really confusing here for me !

There are seven slots to install add-in cards on the P5040DS board.

Please refer to the P5040DS documentation.
