P2041 RGMII port pings directly with other PC but not through switch

Hi,

We are using P2041 processor in one of our embedded applications. 

We have RGMII port in the design and it pings with other PC if connected directly through CAT5 cable. But if it is connected through the switch, ping will not happen with other PC. 

We are using VSC8572 PHY for Ethernet.

Anyone could help on this issue?

It is neither RGMII nor P2041 processor responsibility to establish
the link to the link partner. This function pertains to the PHY.
The suggestions therefore are:

1. Make sure your IP-level settings are correct, the both sides know
   the route to each other.

2. Use ethtool to check the link status and the interface statistics:

3. If the link fails to autonegotiate or is unstable, approach your PHY
   manufacturer for support.
