The news of the past year hasn’t been encouraging for those who wished cyberspace would avoid becoming a geopolitical battleground. It is now confirmed that national governments are exploiting weaknesses in network infrastructure and end point security to conduct cyber surveillance and disrupt the operations of networks and other critical infrastructure. But with QorIQ platforms, embedded systems designers can do more than throw up their hands and surrender. QorIQ products include features like secure boot, which OEMs can use to make it significantly harder for their systems to be hacked. This session will briefly describe the threats which the Trust Architecture is intended to address and provide an overview the features and methods it uses to resist hacks. This session will describe the most commonly selected devices from the i.MX applications processor family, Qorivva portfolio and the QorIQ platform with Layerscape architecture. This session will show how to obtain i.MX technical information from Freescale's website and also give an overview on i.MX 6 series SoC features, including IPU, VPU, GPU, and corresponding i.MX 6 series hardware design reference boards. The session will also show how to use Android® BSP for i.MX 6 series processors KK4.4.2_1.0.0-ga, i.MX 6 series for Linux® BSP fsl-yocto-3.10.17_1.0.0-ga and manufacturing tools. At the end of this session, we will do a few case studies on i.MX 6 series, i.e. multiple camera capturing, dashboard demo, multi-panel display.
