White box switches are network switches that are sold independent of the software that will run on them. Open Network Linux (ONL) is used as the basis for the "network operating systems" that run on the switches. Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) is used to create the software used to install the networking operation system onto the switch. This presentation highlights NXP's involvement in ONL/ONIE on the QorIQ P2041 and QorIQ T2080 platforms as well as the roadmap for LS2085. This session will expand on NXP's approach to ONL/ONIE and the white box market. Watch Video Presentation

A temperature monitoring solution permits logging of transport conditions of each individual drug package at any point in time. Patients and healthcare professionals can confirm the drug quality at the moment of administration. An easy-to-use solution will be presented that helps meet these critical requirements. It comprises a battery, an antenna and a single chip NHS3100 that integrates a sensor, clock, storage and NFC connectivity. Easy-to-use and intuitive, this solution supports wireless communication with a smart phone. It can be used for temperature monitoring of any perishable goods (like flowers, wine, food, resins, ...) as well.

FIDO Alliance is getting huge traction in the secure authentication world and the member count has surpassed 250 companies. Secure Element based FIDO U2F Authenticators add another security layer to consumer online authentication for cloud services and have been deployed for services like Google, Dropbox, Github, and others. These Authenticators are available in various form factors (Cards, USB keys, Fobs, Wearables and embedded) and support multiple interfaces like USB, NFC and BLE to connect users to critical online services using the FIDO authentication protocol. In addition to FIDO credentials, NXP provides vSE based multi-credential (PKCS#15, EAC, BAC, SAC, Mifare, PIV ) as well as an online services platform including eDoc derived mobile credential management connecting relying parties to enable secure mobile authentication for eGov services. Vehicles need to accurately grasp the world around them - just like the human driver - in order to drive autonomously. Automotive technology aims to fit vehicles with capabilities even beyond the senses of the human driver, allowing to make the most intelligent decisions in real time. The information that vehicle sensors collect must not only be real time and accurate but also be secure against hacking attacks so that we can trust them with our lives. Reliable ADAS and appropriate security measures are a key ingredient in self-driving cars. Vehicle-to-X technology, extends the visibility beyond the sight of drivers to "see" around corners and through obstacles. External sensor information and internal data from the car networks are vital to help to eliminate the 1.3 million road accidents happening on global roads each year.

As connected edge devices gain momentum with consumers, the security approaches and assumptions of the past will fail and create new threats and vulnerabilities to consumer safety and privacy. Additionally, the cost for security in mobile phones, tablets, and PCs will present a challenge for applications such as occupant sensors and heart rate monitoring patches. Lastly, the teams of security experts in connected industries do not yet exist at suppliers who are connecting products to the network. Join this session to learn how industries are providing cost effective, highly secure, certified hardware that can hasten the learning cycle for emerging edge node applications, bring solutions for security, drive down costs, and limit the supplier specific required expertise.

Aimed to be a hands-on the exercise would consist in using a vision processor to run CNN on various pictures to recognize traffic signals (Stop, Turn, Yield, etc). First we will cover basic concepts on machine learning for the algorithms to be used. After the class part is over, we will use a vision processor to run CNN to recognize between traffic signs and no traffic signs.

The QorIQ Communications portfolio has traditionally used Power Architecture® based cores. The latest QorIQ LS series of processors has expanded to use ARM® core technology. There are a lot of software-visible architectural differences between these two types of cores, and system software is dependent on the core architecture. If a system software developer who has experience with Power Architecture based devices transitions to ARM-based processors, the developer must understand the differences between the cores so that the software can be easily migrated from a Power Architecture core to an ARM core. This session compares these two core architectures and sheds light on how software can handle the differences. Watch Video Presentation
