The standard CAN protocol has been extended into CAN Flexible Data (FD) to provide higher bandwidth while keeping the physical characteristics that have made it the most popular automotive in-vehicle communications protocol . This presentation will provide an overview of the changes to the standard as well as address the challenges faced while rolling out and implementing the technology.
