Enabling HSE bit via DCF record

Hi petervlna,

I'm working on MPC5748G micro. I want to know that where does NXP write DCF record to enable HSM i.e, to set HSE bit of SSCM_UOPS register ?

In boards where HSM is not enable, we enable it by flashing .cmm file (SHE firmware RTM1.0.5) which has a particular DCF  record to be written in UTEST area.

What about boards which are HSM enabled by NXP itself ? Where is that DCF record written or there is other way to enable HSE bit?

Awaiting response at your earliest convenience .

Regards,

Ayesha

Hello,

On samples containing HSM firmware we do it in NXP fab by writing to UTEST the DCF record. This process can be done only once. If you want to enable it you can do it according the HSM security reference manual appending A.

What about boards which are HSM enabled by NXP itself ? Where is that DCF record written or there is other way to enable HSE bit?

The record is written in UTEST flash. Once it is enabled (by NXP or user) it is permanent.

regards,

Peter
