Hello,

i have a Problem to connect my iMXRT1170 Evalboard via the On-Board Debugger with MCUExpresso. If i press the Debug Button, loaded the Blinky example before, i get the error message "An internal error occurred during: "Opening RedlinkServer telnet session...""

Flo1989_0-1634282304149.pngFlo1989_1-1634282334178.png

In the device Manager from Windows i see the CMSIS-Dap:

In the Details.txt of the Eval-Board is the Version:

Disabling of the Firewall was not successful. I also can connect and load a Example via Qt Creator.

Does anybody have a solution for this Problem?

Thanks,

Florian

Hi

I started getting this same error with Redlink after the latest Windows 10 update (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/october-12-2021-kb5006670-os-builds-19041-1288-19042-1288-...). Could it be the cause?

At the moment I can't seem to be able to launch any debug sessions.

Cheers
Stefano

Hi,

here are another Exception that is shown from MCUXpresso when i try to connect.

Flo1989_0-1634557480018.png

I now found the Debug Configurations,

there was no entry on "C/C++ (NXP Semiconductors) MCU Application", i double clicked on it and then there appeared the entry "evkmimxrt1170_iled_blinky_cm7 LinkServer Debug"

But the Error is still the same.

Flo1989_1-1634557663645.png

Also under the "Probes discovered" Window it says "No compatible probes available. ..."

I really have to solve this problem. We want do go with our development.

We have a KEIL Ulink-ME here, is it possible to use it with MCUXpresso?

Regards,

Florian

Hi,

But the CMSIS-DAP can be found at the beginning, right? If you don't know how to get back, you can install MCUXpresso again.

In serial download mode, you can use MCUBootUitlity to connect RT1170 via J20 and erase the chip.

https://github.com/JayHeng/NXP-MCUBootUtility

It's a powerful tool maintained by NXP employee.

BTW, before you switch to serial download mode, the power should be disconnected.

Hi,

i could erase the chip, but have still the same Problem. I will get another Eval Board next week then i will try it with this. I already tried to reinstall the complete Toolchain.

The Driver Version is correct?

Is it possible that something like in this post happens to the board?

https://dzone.com/articles/recovering-and-updating-the-nxp-opensda-bootloader

The post is old and my Bootloader Version is 0244.

But i will get a MCU-Link debugger also next Week. Is it possible to reflash the OpenSDA Debug Interface of the Board?

Florian

Hi @jingpan

I tried to go to serial download Mode by SW1 (Qt Software is no more running on the Board) and GUI Flash tool. I get the same Error, i also get the Error when the board is disconnected, so no USB is connected to the PC. Do i have to make any configuration for the Connection?

I can switch by GUI Flash tool between these Configurations but don't know how to change the configuration.

My guess is that the firewall is blocking access to the port used by the debugger and redlink server. Try configuring your firewall to allow port access for the IDE and the redlink server exe.

Hi,

the firewall is already disabled!

The problems you are reporting definitely look like problems with ports being blocked. Do you have a 3rd party anti-virus software as well as Defender?

Hi @Flo1989 ,

You can try to reconfigure the chip to serial download mode by SW1. Then use MCUXpresso GUI Flash tool to erase the flash.
