PTP on LX2160A

I read that LX2160A has support for PTP.

Does it mean that the configuration and PTP clock synchronization happens at the board/firmware level and is transparent to the OS?

lx2160A supports PTP means PTP is supported in hardware, there are PTP related drivers in LSDK and it is supported by linuxptp protocol software.

Hi Yiping, thanks for your answer. Sorry I do not fully understand the second part. If I am using a RTOS, does it mean that the PTP clock synchronization logic still has to be implemented at the driver layer, even though the hardware supports PTP? What does the hardware actually do to support PTP?
