Hi Guyzz

Just started using my LPCXpresso under linux , full debugging & programming via Versaloon (SWD) and a $8 STM8S-Discovery board (Has a 72Mhz arm on it).
The STM8S-Discovery , like the LPCXpresso has an onboard debugger (A 72Mhz ARM)  that connects direct via USB.

The ARM part of the board is converted to a Versaloon SWD dongle.

I'm using Codesourcery-Lite , NXP CMSIS v2.0 and OpenOCD (where Versaloon has SWD support)

http://www.avrfreaks.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=817534#817534

The STM32VL-Discovery can be converted as well.

http://www.versaloon.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17

The Xpresso is a nice board , but i still don't get the part about making the debugger closed.

The 1768 only needs 2 SWD wires (SWDIO & SWCLK) , but i think the Cortex-M0 needs reset also , this one is easiest to get (solder on) with the STM32VL-Discovery.

This is also working on a MAC.

German Embedded Artists Distributor:

http://www.watterott.com/

isn't selling things like LPCXpresso1227, but 'crap' from the largest European semiconductors supplier:

Guys, please this is a NXP website and we surely don't appreciate it when you're promoting ST stuff (crap ;)).

So please take this discussion elsewhere!!

Kind regards,

You are right, but how to get it running under Linux,
if the CodeRed stuff works only under i386 and not ARM?

Where do you have gotten the dongle for this price?

I was on the Versaloon Website and there is only the "Versaloon Mini"
available and it cost 30 US$ + 20 US$ shiping

Note: I am in France and if someone can send it to me much less expensive
as on this website please feel free to contact me.

Greetings
Michelle

Thanks for the information.

I had already read something like that out there. You can program the Cortex-M0 without reset, but it's a hassle to do it manually.
