Suspend button becomes grayed out during debug

Hi,

When debugging, one of my interrupts causes the suspend button to gray out. I can see the application is still running and is not trapped in a hard fault or anything. Without yellow suspend, I can't stop the program to debug.  I have to hit terminate.  Why is it happening and what do I do to fix it?

Version: LPCXpresso v4.2.3 [Build 292] [30/05/2012]

The button will become grayed if you have not got the "application.axf" entry selected in the Debug View.

BTW: v4.2.3 is very out of date. Latest version is v5.2.6
