Red Probe+ / LPC Link USB driver

Hi

I used LPC Expresso about 1 year ago without any problems. I've recently re-installed it for a new project.

My Red probe+ and LPC-Link both reort "Device not recognized" in Windows 7. When installing LPC Expresso it mentioned loading drivers for these, but clearly something did not work.

I've searched for drivers on the Code Red site but there don't apear to be any.

How do I get Windows 7 to recognize them?

Hi again,

I added an external USB hub and plugged the Red probe+ into that.
Again there are 2 red probe+ devices (A and B).

There are also Red Probe Trace Ports (COM7 and COM9).
(Don't think that that's part of the problem)

But now LPC Expresso finds and uses the Red Probe+.

Don't you just love USB...

The Device error is 43. This appears to be a common Windows/USB problem.
(This is a new Windows 7 PC, Core i-3 etc.)

If I move the Red Probe + to a rear USB socket Windows finds it. After that the LPC-Link works on the front side. I don't know why it suddenly works.

I have managed to debug my board using the LPC-Link, so this indicates that the target, LPC-Link etc. work.

I have never liked the LPC-Link. I found it unstable in previous work and would prefer to use the Red Probe+.

If I look at Device Manager I actually see 2 Red probe+ devices marked Red probe + A and red probe + B, though I only have one physical device.

At first both appeared to be active, but now one comes up as Code 10, "unable to start".

Either way LPC Expresso does not find an emulator deivce.

Any suggestions on where to now?

Where can I select the emulator type in LPC Expresso?
How do I know that it has actually found an emulator?

The drivers are all installed with LPCXpresso - look in the Drivers directory of the install.

Searching for "reinstalling drivers in Windows 7" will give plenty of instructions on how to reinstall drivers.
