My question is regarding en-masse activation but first a bit if background to my query...

At the University of Wolverhampton, we're aiming to make a large number of applications within our student software portfolio available on-demand via Application Jukebox.
If you're not familiar with the product, think along the lines of Microsoft's App-V. Applications are packaged up, then the virtualised application is streamed to clients.

More information about the technology behind it is available here and here.

Previously, we have either made LPCXpresso available as part of a fat image or deployed it via Group Policy. With each of those approaches, this has been to a fixed lab of machines and although laborious, a technician has manually activated LPCXpresso on each machine. By packaging up LPCXpresso for delivery via Application Jukebox, the intention is that students will be able to use the application from a wider range of PCs, so manually activating isn't feasible.

What options are there for activating LPCXpresso during the packaging stage to avoid the need to activate again when the application is steamed to a different client device?
Alternatively, what options are there for automating the activation process?

Basically, Free and Pro work in similar ways - each computer must be individually activated. There is no way around this.

You can install LPCXpresso as many times as you like, but the 1st user on each machine, must activate it.

Sorry, but LPCXpresso is not designed to be used in the way that you want.

That's a little disappointing.

If a solution requires us to pay for a Pro Edition, then as long as costs aren't prohibitive, then this is an option we can consider.

I was hopeful that the introduction of central administration of activation codes would mean you now offered a better way of activating a large number of installs.
Under the central administration of activation codes support article, the section regarding multiple seat activation suggests that one set of activation credentials can be used for all machines. Although this provides central management of the activation, can the first install and activation be captured during the packaging stage to retain activation when streaming to other clients? Or does this still require manual input of an e-mail address and password to activate clients?

The faculty teaching with this software are currently limited to teaching with it in a handful of teaching rooms. Students can only access and use the software when those rooms are available. We would really like to be able to make it easier for students to access and use your software across any of the thousands of PCs they have access to over our PC estate.

Offline activation applies to LPCXpresso Pro Edition only. Also, it requires a file generated on the target computer to be uploaded, so it wouldn't help you either.

As I already told you, it is not possible to mass activate, or automate the activation of LPCXpresso.

How about the offline activation mechanism?
Could we use this method to activate at the packaging stage?
The Application Jukebox service allows us to restrict streaming of applications to a set number of clients, certain locations, certain users etc to still comply with any licence restrictions e.g. no more than 10 concurrent users.

Sorry, this is not possible:
1. LPCXpresso activation is unique to each computer
2. There is no automation of activation.

Sorry.
