Hi there.
I'm using a lpc1549 module which has VCOM functionality. I've used it for a long time already in computers which run Windows 7/8, installing "LPCXpresso Link2 USB driver package" (v2.0.2) with no trouble at all.

I've now tried in a computer running Windows 10, and I'm constantly getting timeout or "device not working" windows errors (#121 and #31 respectively). The device is recognised, though, as "LPC USB VCom Port" (exactly as in the other successful cases), it just doesn't connect.

Of course, I've tried in different USB ports, different USB cables, different software, etc, with no success...

Any ideas? I've read here that some people could use this functionality in W10... Do I have to modify somehow the drivers?

Thank you in advance!

Hi! Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. I tried that many times, with no luck..

Ok, I have it working with "USB Serial Device" provided by Microsoft.

If the device fails to install, go to device manager, select the failed device (mine was under Ports (COM&LPT), click on the "Driver" tab, "Update Driver...", "Browse my computer for driver software", "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer", Choose "Manufacturer : Microsoft" and "Model : USB Serial Device".

The very first time I did this, the device still showed a problem. I then Uninstalled the driver from the Device Manager and unplugged the device. Once I reconnected it, W10 recognized it. I connected to my board via my terminal program, it's working.

Cheers,

Attila

+1 on this one. I've been going back and forth, even managed to install the Win7 driver (unsigned), then tried all usbserial drivers available, but they all produced "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"... ... not giving up though... NXP?!

Well, at least I'm not the only one! I've tried exactly the same.

Thanks!!

Hi whitecoe!
Thank you for your quick answer.
Mmm I'm not sure that's my case. My problem is with a LPC1549-based device working as USB device, which is connected through USB to a computer, which sees a VCOM port and is (or should be) able to communicate this way.
I'm not using the Link2 USB debugger, just the drivers are called "LPCXpresso Link2 USB driver package" and they include the drivers for my application.
Thank you again!
