These were readily available until recently but now they are only available with an MOQ of a full tray of 300 and a lead time of a whole year.

Clearly NXP don't want us to use these, and this is causing us quite a problem.

So please what is the recommended replacement (preferably pin and code compatible).

Thanks, David

LPC4088 has been recommended to me if that would help.   I think you'd need to re-spin the PCB and do a fair bit of work to the s/w though (not looked at that yet).

Thank you very much for that hint!

I'll have a look on the LPC4088...

Thank you - I'll let the relevant folks  know.  Will code built for the LPC2388 run correctly on the LPC1788?

Thanks, David

No. It is a different machine architecture (Cortex-M3 vs ARM7TDMI). So, you need to recompile, and also rewrite some code - the interrupt structure is different, the startup is different and I don't think that the peripherals are 100% compatible. You can probably re-use your own business logic, but the peripheral drivers are going to need work.

Hi perdrix

The pinout of LPC178x/7x is intended to allow pin function compatibility with the LPC24xx
and LPC23xx.

You can consider LPC1778FBD144 as replacement for your part.

Have a nice day,

Jun Zhang

Hello,
I have the same issu with the LPC2388. We have to update our hardware and therefore we also look for a substitution for the 2388.
I'm not sure if the life time of the 1778 will also come to an end in the near future...
Is there another suggestion which is more future proof?
