Hi,

we are using an LPC15xx to control the commutation of two motors independently using the SCTimer.
Both motors use a 32bit SCTimer, with (an important detail) each using 12 events.

We are now looking for a replacement for this processor, but I can't find any.
The LPC15xx is the only processor with multiple SCTimers.
I have been looking at using the SCTimer in e.g. a LPC55S2x in a un-unified way, so I have 2 timers (although with loss of resolution), but I also need to have the 24 events.
And I can only find alternatives with max 16 events.

Is there any alternative to our usecase?

Thanks in advance.

Hello janpieterderuit,

Sorry, except lpc15xx, there is no others have more than 24 events.

How about use SCTIMER+CTIMER, for lpc55s2x you mentioned, the CTIMER output can configured as input of SCTIMER.

Hi Alice,

thanks for your reply.
I'm not sure whether using the CTimer as input is an option for us.

That would mean a major redesign of the SCTimer.
And we do not have the time to do this redesign, so we would rather leave the SCTimer as is.

I'm surprised there is no alternative for the LPC15xx with respect to the SCTimers.
They are currently hardly available, but I also understood they are planned to be EOL in 2024.
Are there any plans for newer generations of e.g. the LPC55xx with multiple SCTimers?

Hi Alice,

thanks for your reply.

Not the answer I was hoping for of course, but I understand.

I hope you get some good news from the team, else we are looking at a major redesign...

Best regards,
