Hi there,
the ADC for LPC55xx (e.g., LPC5528) has an ENOB of only 12.
That number seems quite low (e.g., compared to a 20 year old ADuC841 with 12-bit ADC that has an ENOB of 11.6).
I wonder why this is. Is it due to the fact that the LPC55's ADC has a lot of "missing codes"?
Thanks.
Daniel
Hi,
Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.
The ENOB typical values you can see in "Table 40. 16-bit ADC static characteristics" of datasheet.
Hope it helps you.
Have a nice day!
Dear @_Leo_ ,
for, e.g., LPC5528, datasheet states an ENOB of 12.
I think that is quite a low value for a 16 bit ADC. Why is this? Is it due to the fact that the LPC55's ADC exhibits a "missing codes" issue?
What is the effective resolution for DC signals (from, e.g., thermistor, strain gauge, potentiometer)?
Thanks.
Dan
