Running LPC4337 at 200 MHz, and the case is very warm, measuring 45 degrees C or more.  When the clock is reduced to 100 MHz, it runs much cooler.  Is this a normal temperature range for 200 MHz?

Absolutely! This chip is done in a 90nm technology, at 200MHz the chip will get warm.

Depending on the number of peripherals you run, it also might get hot.

What you should check:  the clock tree for all peripherals is enabled by default after reset. So you should switch off everything in the beginning (except the core of course :-) and then switch the clocks for the needed peripheral blocks on step by step in your system initialization.

Thanks for the response.   I am indeed using several peripherals, including all of the timer peripherals, all with a divide by one.
