How to start a Timer by an external trigger

Hello
I'm using LPC1111FHN33/202.
Is it possible to start/stop a timer trough the 'CAP' PIN? I don't want to use external GPIO interrupt for that.
Just jumping to "TIMER16_0_IRQHandler".
