Can CAN run on IRC?

Hello,

is it possible and is it a good idea to run CAN on IRC?
I assume IRC is not stable enough for CAN, but is this really the case?
Is there some document allowing or preventing this?

IRC is 1%, that's usually not a good idea  :((
