CRC Engine on LPC54xx/S0xx

Hello, are the only compatible CRC's for the CRC engine the three CRCs that are in the datasheet? Or will additional CRCs need to be implemented by using user-developed software that will not run in the engine? Additionally, does it support 8-bit CRCs
