Please, try the newest KSDK 2.0. We have created USB Host HID example, which is under

C:\Freescale\KSDK 2.0\SDK_2.0_FRDM-K66F\boards\frdmk66f\usb_examples\usb_host_hid_mouse_keyboard

unfortunately from KSDK 2.0 there is no support of PE, please see Let´s start with KSDK! for changes, which KSDK 2.0 brings.

But anyway, you can try this by this way with PE and older KSDK: Creating a New USB project with KSDK and Processor Expert support in KDS
