I'm looking for some entry level motor control projects. Maybe the motor could be

a 12v DC motor with less than one amp, under microcontroller command.

The MCUXpresso SDK Builder does not seem to know about frdmke02z40m. Can you look at this again ?

It now finds the board in question but seems to get hung up on the middleware options selected. I do have a FRDM-k64f and was able to find something related to motor control but I doubt it has anything to do with what you were trying to direct me to.

I confirm it exists. The SDK Builder includes the hyphen (“-”) during its search. The correct name should be FRDM-KE02Z40M. You can also try searching by directly entering KE02Z40.

Thanks for your post.

For a simple 12V brushed DC motor (<1A), Kinetis K02/K20 or KE02/KE04 are perfect choices.
They provide PWM (via FTM), GPIO control, ADC for current sensing, and are low-cost and easy for beginners.

If you later want to try BLDC or FOC control, you may upgrade to the Kinetis KV series, but for your current 12V DC motor, K/KE family are more than enough.
