motor control

I'm looking for some entry level motor control projects. Maybe the motor could be

a 12v DC motor with less than one amp, under microcontroller command.

There still is no ftm or tpm in the device drivers list. Write your steps 1 by 1. The video goes too fast. I may be still missing something.

If you still cannot find these demos, please try uninstalling the SDK in MCUXpresso and then reinstalling it.

Note that after re-importing the SDK, maybe you need restart MCUXpresso IDE;

You can also import the SDK by directly dragging and dropping the ZIP package into MCUXpresso.

Additionally, you may try downloading the SDK again from SDK Builder to ensure that the SDK package is complete.

OK, for the moment I'm ok. It did get a download. So now the task becomes investigating the downloaded SDK.

Any suggestions ?

You have a captured picture of the SDK builder with device drivers listed. I never get to that point because it looses the FRDM-KE02Z40M awareness. I think anyways. I can get to the ADC and GPIO drivers. The others are just not in the list.   Funky behaviors.

It finds the FRDM-KE02Z40M and it lists the middleware which I selected. I tell it to build the SDK and it goes off into never, never land. And doesn't build me anything.

The MCUXpresso SDK Builder does not seem to know about frdmke02z40m. Can you look at this again ?

It now finds the board in question but seems to get hung up on the middleware options selected. I do have a FRDM-k64f and was able to find something related to motor control but I doubt it has anything to do with what you were trying to direct me to.

I confirm it exists. The SDK Builder includes the hyphen (“-”) during its search. The correct name should be FRDM-KE02Z40M. You can also try searching by directly entering KE02Z40.

Thanks for your post.

For a simple 12V brushed DC motor (<1A), Kinetis K02/K20 or KE02/KE04 are perfect choices.
They provide PWM (via FTM), GPIO control, ADC for current sensing, and are low-cost and easy for beginners.

If you later want to try BLDC or FOC control, you may upgrade to the Kinetis KV series, but for your current 12V DC motor, K/KE family are more than enough.
