K27F-K28F USB VREG_OUT Capacitor

Hi,

I just want to know if VREG_OUT (pin G2) should be connected to an external output capacitor (COUT=2.2uF in datasheet) despite of it is not used to power any external circuit. I want to use USB FS with IRC48 as clock source. The microcontroller is powered by an external supply.

Hi

The capacitor is used to stabilise the low dropout regulator used to supply stable USB PHY power supply. This means that if FS USB is used it must be connected. If not, USB will not work.
Make sure that the capacitor type used fulfills the low ESD requirements as specified in the manual and data sheet.
