How will Qualcomm's possible acquisition of NXP affect all of us?

I started my ARM experience with the Freescale Kinetis line, which was purchased by NXP, and thankfully, things have continued smoothly from my perspective.

Now that Qualcomm is likely going to acquire NXP, do I need to worry about how this will affect projects like KDS, as well as the Kinetis line of processors?

Actually since Qualcom is taking over NXP, and now Broadcom, I'm afraid the products won't be updated further. No real "bummer" came out, however there are so many things that could be improved.

-Real low cost MCUs with DMA and real low power

-Lower power consumption M4

Actually for me now, Microchip seem to come out with really nice ARMs. When will you also offer an M4 with <70µA/MHz? Current consumption is round 400µA/MHz for mine.

NXP, if don't keep updating the MCUs, users will switch to other vendors. Currently I would choose another brand for a the next product development, as performance is (µA/MHz) and value is better.

NXP has another ARM  family processor,  in this case it is the LPC  Family   LPC5411x MCU can shut down the Cortex®M4 for a tiered power approach and use the Cortex®  -M0+ to perform less taxing tasks, achieving an even lower active mode of 60 μA/MHz.

Haven't heard much about the Qualcomm takeover stuff in the meantime but it looks like Broadcom is now trying to take over Qualcomm:
