I want to know is there any example of hardware circuit design that using UART port of S9KEAZ128 chip as bootloader? I found the AN5400.pdf from the NXP website, but there's no hardware circuit examples. Can you help me? Thanks so much!

Hi Jing Pan,

Thanks so much, but this link still only have AN5400 and that didn't solve my problem. I want some examples of the hardware circuit about the bootloader using the uart port. Anyway thanks a lot!

Hi,

There is no special circuit that UART need, just three signal, TX,RX,GND. You can buy a USB-serial adaptor to connect your PC with KEA. If you have no hardware design experience, you can refer to FRDM-KEA128 board. NXP Freedom Development Platform for Ultra Reliable Kinetis EA Series MCUs | NXP

It use openSDA to debug KEA. OpenSDA has a virtual UART channel which connect to KEA UART port.

Jing
