Configuring I2S/SAI on FRDM-KL46Z

Hello,

I've attempted at configuring the I2S/SAI module on the FRDM-KL46Z board and I'm wondering what's the order of steps to correctly configure it. My goal is to transmit frames of single-toned frequencies from the FRDM-KL46Z in master mode to an MAX98357A audio amplifier. In the MCUExpresso IDE, I included the fsl_sai header/source files and tried setting it up on my own. 

The MCUXpresso SDK API Reference Manual has a section on helper functions to set up I2S which I'll link below (as well as the reference manuals for both the board and the amplifier, if that helps).
