Hi guys!

I'm beginner with KDS.

When I installed the KDS 3.0.0 software works very well. However, the performance is slow in the next time the software is called. My OS is Windows 10.

Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Hi guys!

I found a solution for my problem. I running the KDS using the compatibility module of Windows (Windows Vista - Service Pack 2).

After that modification the KDS stayed fast!

Check that all directories in the DOS PATH variable actually exist.

Non-existent directories can cause this slow behavior in GCC.

Not sure you are even getting that far, so may not be relevant.

Hi Bob!

Thank you for your time.

Which are directories (absence) may cause the slowness at GCC?

In system variables "C:\Freescale\KSDK1.0.0_KL43Z_1.0.1" I have the

variable "KSDK_PATH"

Hi guys!

My conclusion about this problem is that "KDS" doesn't work at Windows 10 (at least this moment).

I performed test with the same installer "Kinetis Design Studio installer for Microsoft Windows 3.0.0", but this time the OS was Windows 8 and all worked correctly.

If you have a same problem with Windows 10 and you got success, please tell me what you did!

Hi Arnaldo,

how many projects do you have in your workspace?

Usually this is an issue with low free memory available. In "Windows - Preferences - General" you can turn "Show heap status" option to indicate on status bar, how many memory is consumed.

Hi Marek!

Thank you for answered. I have a single project in workspace!

When, I install the KDS (first time) the memory consumed is there about: 287,5 MB and 4% CPU activity . Thus, the KDS is open again the memory is 290,1 MB, but the activity CPU is increased for 26,0%!

After this I can't to work with KDS because stay very slow.

I attached the Windows "Task Manager" when I chose the CPU in "Devices".

I'll try to find a solution for my problem, than I installed the KIDS in other notebook. This notebook hasn't any engineering software previously installed (for example Eclipse).

Unfortanately I noticed the same berhaviour, that is, to open the KDS after instalation it is extremely slow.

Below is the screen of another notebook:

Thank you for your support!

Arnaldo
