KDS as a plugin to Eclipse?

Since Kinetis Design Studio is essentially a modified version of Eclipse, are there any plans to offer KDS as a plugin to Eclipse/Eclipse CDT?

Hi Sam,

this already exists today :-), see Going to Mars: Building a DIY Eclipse IDE for ARM Embedded Microcontrollers | MCU on Eclipse

What you need is the Processor Expert for Kinetis plugin (see above post), plus of course all the other CDT plugins.

So if you take a stock Eclipse, you will get 99.9% of KDS, except the branding and a few bug fixes.
