Hi all
I currently have a setup where I program a DSP56F826 on a windows XP machine. I use a OCDemon Wiggler as parallel port jtag interface and the flash_over_jtag.exe. All of this is very old tech.
Now I want to replace my windows XP machine with a windows 10 machine. Unfortunately the "zlportio.sys" file, which the flash_over_jtag.exe uses to access the parallel port is not supported by windows 10. Atleast thats what I learned from other posts.
I am now looking for a new solution to program my chip. Either with diffrent software or maybe also a new programmer. I am happy about any help, since I was not successfull in finding a solution on the web for my problem so far.
Kind Regards
Hello @dt8991 ,
The DSP56F826 was released in about 2001 in Motorola. It has been over 20 years since its release, making it extremely outdated. As of now, the only programming tools I'm aware of for this chip are the Wiggler used as a parallel port JTAG interface and the flash_over_jtag.exe software. Unfortunately, there are no new alternatives compatible with the Windows 10 system. Thank you for your understanding.
I suggest you use the latest DSC family MC56F84xxx/MC56F83xxx/MC56F82xxx/MC56F81xxx even the MC56F80xxx which is released just now.
This is DSC family website:
Digital Signal Controllers | NXP Semiconductors
Tools: CodeWarrior for MCU ver11.x
CodeWarrior® for Microcontrollers-Eclipse IDE 11.1 | NXP Semiconductors
The tools is free of charge for DSC.
Device: You can order the Multilink Universal from PEMicro third party.
The MC56F8xxxx support SDK, you can download SDK from the link:
Select Board | MCUXpresso SDK Builder
Best Regards,
Celeste
