@Dear

I use P&E USB HCS08/HCS12/CFV1 multilink (Name=PE5016565) with Codewarrior 6.0 for more than 5 years. But recently, failure occurred when using it.  Even reinstall Codewarrio6.0 again. The error hint is as below:

There is a driver licensing issue on your machine. Please download and install the latest driver from: http:/www.pemicro.com/downloads/download_file.cfm?download_id=53.

But I can't find the latest driver from this link.

BTW, Codewarrior6.3 special version was installed in this PC. And now it was uninstalled.

The attached is the picture of my multilink(Name=PE5016565).

Could you kindly give your help?

Thanks a lot!

Dear Zhang,

Thanks a lot first!

After installing P&E hardware interface driver version 12, it can be used to flash MCU(MC9S08AW60) for the first time.

Then I exited Codewarrior 6.0 and disconnected P&E USB HCS08/HCS12/CFV1 multilink (Name=PE5016565) from PC.

But for the second time, after click connect button, an error as below always occurred..

Could you kindly give your great help.

Thanks!

hi,

please measure the reset line if it always keep low when launch target.

perform power off then power on during when this message comes out to see if this can solve the problem.

you may  try it on a different computer with board.

you may also try the board with external power supply to the board.

Best Regards,

Jennie

Dear Zhang,

When the error occurred:

1. The voltage at reset line is 4.77V( same as at OK status)

2. perform power off then power on, the target boards are OK. Connect again the error still occurred.

3. another PC with another multilink, the error also occurred very often

4. while flashing, our target boards are supplied with external power( measured the Vcc at MC9S08AW60 is 4.77v at OK  status, at not OK status is 5.05V)

BTW,:

1. The multilink firmware version is 5.81

2. CW6.0 and driver are reinstalled again, PC is shut down and restart.

3. USB cable is a new one.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

did you check the reset pin wave with scope? does it always stay high and never goes low?

please make sure your chip is not damaged(test with another board/chip).  if the chip is corrupt, it's possible to have the same problem.

if your chip is not damaged, you need to check the power supply design and BDM interface design. thus we need to check the related schematic.

Dear Ms. Zhang,

Thanks a lot for your great support!

I solved the problem in last week. The root cause is the wire in the PE box to pin6(VDD) shown in below picture, it’s open sometimes.
