QG8-FREQUENCY CHANGE TO...

Hello,

in debuging mode with QG8,the window located at the right corner of debugger always shows "Frequency change to ~0","Frequency change to ~55296","Frequency change to ~998656h",these three messages shows alternatively many times(the set frequency is 1mhz).
I understand this means the debugger is trying to synchronize QG8, but why is it changing all the time?does this mean QG8 frequency is changing all the time too?

thanks  very much

In a word, yes that is what it means.
I have seen this when using an external  xtal, I put a scope probe on the xtal, causing to oscillate erratically.

What are you using for clocks?

thanks Jim.

I use the 16-MHz internal clock and bus frequency is set to 1Mhz.
but why is it changing all the time?
when it is "0",does that  mean the inteneral clock stops?

thanks a lot

It means the BDM thinks thats it's 0.
You settings sound perfectly ok. Did you use PE to generate the init code?
What BDM are you using? - I will try it tonight and see....
