27 January 2016, Horw, Switzerland: Toradex is pleased to announce its new initiative: Hardware Partner Program. The intention of this program is to offer Toradex customers an ecosystem of third party hardware that is compatible with its ARM®-based System on Modules (SOMs). Currently, the program includes Carrier Boards, Carrier Board and Display combos, and Panel PCs. Toradex’s extensive free design resources and service partner network make it fast and simple to create a customized carrier board. However, off-the-shelf solutions may be more desirable in cases where especially fast time-to-market and low development cost are required. The new Hardware Partner Program supplements Toradex’s own Customized Single Board Computers offering and further expands the off-the-shelf solutions that are available to its customers. Stephan Dubach, CEO, Toradex adds, “Toradex is committed to offer a complete ecosystem of hardware and software that complements its robust ARM-based System on Modules. We already have a successful service partner program, which includes third party companies who can help our customers with their software and hardware services. The new Hardware Partner Program will supplement our existing hardware ecosystem by offering more choices of off-the-shelf hardware to our customers, and thus help them in speedy project development.” The entire list of third party hardware is available at https://www.toradex.com/support/partner-network/hardware. About Toradex: Toradex is a Swiss-based company offering ARM-based System on Modules (SOMs) and Customized SBCs. Powered by NXP®/Freescale i.MX 6, i.MX 7 & Vybrid, and NVIDIA® Tegra processors, the pin- compatible SOMs offer scalability in terms of price, performance, power consumption, and I/Os. Complemented with direct online sales and long-term product availability, Toradex offers direct local premium support and ex-stock availability in locations such as Switzerland, USA, India, Brazil, China, and Japan.

iWave has been one of the early adopters of i.MX6. As a result of this, iWave dived into the design and manufacture of one of the early i.MX6 Qseven System on Modules to keep up the commitment to clients. As recently Freescale has rolled out the Power Management Companion Chip for i.MX6, iWave has come up with the improved i.MX6 Qseven SOM integrated with PMIC to adhere to our corporate policy of constant improvement of design to meet customers’ needs. iWave is now happy to announce the launch of the new improved feature-rich i.MX6 Quad/Dual/Dual Lite/Solo Qseven SOM module with enhanced performance. Basically, the predecessor SOM is based on Qseven R1.2 specifications whereas the new SOM is compliant to Qseven R2.0 specifications. Freescale’s latest PMIC is integrated to the SOM for better power management. This feature enables various power management options to the customers including the dynamic voltage frequency scaling (DVFS) supported by the i.MX6 CPU. The new SOM is compliance to the latest R2.0 Qseven specification. The SOM supports 8 GPIOs on the LPC interface and additional UART port proposed in the latest R2.0 Qseven specification. These new SOMs will be supported with Linux, Android and Windows Embedded Compact 7 BSP. The SOMs will be software compatible with existing non-PMIC based i.MX6 Qseven SOMs with additional BSP patches. These new PMIC based SOMs and their associated heat spreader part samples are available for customer evaluation. For further information or inquiries please write to mktg@iwavesystems.com

Hi. We are using iMX6 SABRESD board with ltib-4.1.0. We need blit functionality for OpenGL framebuffer objects. It is present in OpenGL GL_EXT_framebuffer_blit extension, but is missing on iMX6. We use QOpenGLFramebufferObject class from Qt. There is blitFramebuffer() method that was working fine on desktop and Android devices. Its method hasOpenGLFramebufferBlit() returns false on iMX6 which means extension is not present. As expected, blitFramebuffer() itself is not working (screen remains black). We need this extension enabled. Why is it missing on iMX6 and is it possible to add it? Regards, Federico

Dear All, We used the MCIMX6X4EVM10AB CTBD1607 2N19K + L3.10.53 and there was no problem. However, MCIMX6X4EVM10AB CTBD1607 2N19K is discontinued. so, we replaced with MCIMX6X4EVM10AB CTBE1646 3N19K. we were replaced I.MX6 soloX 2N19K to 3N19K on same board and then we were faced to internal boot fail issue after download sucess using MFG tool. We used NAND Booting, so we using MFG tool to download. and download is always success. and then we changed the BOOT_MODE from '01' to '10' using the fuse switch. and system power on..... Internal Booting does not work and it goes directly to Serial Download and it is caught as USB Device on PC. BOOT_CFG uses '0000' In case MCIMX6X4EVM10AB CTBD1607 2N19K, both of L3.10.53 and L4.1.15 are successfully booted by Internal nand. MCIMX6X4EVM10AB CTBE1646 3N19K, both L3.10.53 and L4.1.15 were successfully downloaded using MFG but There is does not work Internal nand booting. I saw the document 'i.MX 6SoloX Application Processor Silicon Revision 1.2 to 1.3 Comparison' I could not find any part to change as software. I.MX6 Solo After changing from Rev1.2 to Rev1.3, is there any part that needs to be modified as S / W or H / W?
