why my mplayer is playing noise

I compiled mplayer for IMX53 QSB and when i play audio file using mplayer it produces noise rather than playing music. I tried mp3 ogg wav formats and the result was noise. Can anybody tell me how to use mplayer and do i need to enable something to play audio well.

./mplayer abc.mp3 (this was the command that i used).

Can you play it with gplay, totem or gst-lauch? I just want to discard this is not a media file issue.

Mplay can play  all video format well,but the voice is not normal!!

I can play mp3 on i.MX53 QSB with mplayer built with Buildroot.     mplayer -ao alsa mp3.mp3 mplayer built with ltib has no alsa support (as you can see with mplayer -ao output).
