Hi all,

I have cross compiled my driver and able to insert it perfectly but after that when I execute the command "iwconfig"

to know the status of my device I am ending up with the warning:

Warning: Driver for device wifi1 has been compiled with an ancient version

of Wireless Extension, while this program support version 11 and later.

Some things may be broken...

Platform details:

i.MX6 sololite with 3.10.17 kernel , yocto build.

Please guide me to move ahead.

Thanks and Regards,

Mutyala rao.

Hi Victor,

Thank you for the reply.

Please find the attachment for the Output of iwconfig command. iwconfig.png

I need the output to be displayed properly to see the ESSID, MAC, Frequency and Encryptioin keys etc..., so, I need this command to work.

Please suggest me how to proceed.

Thanks and Regards,

Mutyalarao.

Hi All,

Along with iwconfig, iwpriv is also not working fine.If I enable wireless extensions in the kernel, then I am facing some lockdep dependencies due to that unknown symbols are coming when I installed my wlan driver.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Mutyalarao.

It is just a warning that your driver uses old version of the protocol.

Usually it does not affect its main functions.

However you may try to find more recent sources to make the driver more precise.

Have a great day,

Victor
