Hi everyone,
I'm having performance issues with disk encryption.
SOC: i.MX8 MP
Storage: 16GB eMMC 64GB microSD
RAM: 4GB LPDDR4 4000MT
I ported the latest bsp to this platform and most of the features work fine. According to the content of Chapter 10.5.3.2 in the IMXLUG document, I successfully created an encrypted partition.
When I used fio to read and write the encrypted partition, I found that in addition to the slow reading and writing speed, the jr-engine process was also taking up a lot of CPU resources.
Is this normal performance? This doesn't quite meet my expectations for "crypto acceleration" mentioned in the document.
A similar situation also occurred in the openssl offload test. The result using cryptodev is two orders of magnitude slower than without it.
Is there a way to use software disk encryption and decryption to compare performance when using tagged keys?
