overlay filesystem to mount root filesystem on RAM

Hi,
I'm working on imx6ull14x14evk board, and I'm new to yocto build.

Currently I'm observing that the root filesystem is mounted in the nand-flash, but I want to create a overlay fs and mount the root filesystem in ram.

How can this be done?
