I would like to know whether there is a tool for calculating the Power Consumption(current consumption) for each NVCC_XXX power rails in iMX8M plus SoC. In the Datasheet the Imax(NVCC_<XXX>)=N x C x V x (0.5 x F).
Where:
N—Number of IO pins supplied by the power line
C—Equivalent external capacitive load
V—IO voltage
(0.5 x F)—Data change rate. Up to 0.5 of the clock rate (F).
In this equation, Imax is in Amps, C in Farads, V in Volts, and F
in Hertz.
Below are the list of NVCC_XXX rails given for iMX8Mplus:
NVCC_JTAG
NVCC_NAND
NVCC_SAI1_SAI5
NVCC_SAI2_SAI3_SPDIF
NVCC_GPIO
NVCC_I2C_UART
NVCC_ECSPI_HDMI
NVCC_ENET
NVCC_SD1
NVCC_CLK
PVCCx_1P8
Hi @ReshmaRoy!
Thank you for contacting NXP Support!
It is very difficult to us provide an exact number for each power rail since the connections and use cases for each of our customers are very different, we only provide the formula to approximate the current consumption.
You can refer to AN13054 to see how the current consumption change depend of the use case or usage of each peripheral in the iMX8MP EVK board.
Best Regards!
