Hello,

Our customer is having issues finding a NAND flash memory compatible with our iMX25 device, the NFC is not as flexible as newer ones.

He is trying to connect a MT29F16G08ABABAWP, for which he needs to program the memory with 218 spare bytes, what can be done with success using ATK (that reads back successful), but when trying to boot the board, it fails.

We would like to debug the boot process in more details so we would like to have more documentation on the serial download protocol, so we can have better idea of what is happening.

Chapter 7.8 – "Serial Download Protocol" of RM does not give much debug information, do we have more specific documentation?

BR,

Bruno

Hello Bruno,

Chapter 7.9 in RM describes the Serial Download Protocol on i.MX25. The link https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-1639 has some examples written by python to show how the SDP works.

Please also read the application note AN3985 "Customizing the Freescale® Advanced Toolkit for i.MX Based Platforms" for supporting new NAND flash device in ATK. The document is available at http://www.freescale.com/

Regards,

Peter
