Hi,
I'm using the i.Mx6 in my design.
I have a requirement to get a RS485 from the UART present in the i.Mx6.
As per data sheet its is possible to use the RS232 Interface to be converted as RS485.
So this conversion of signals need to be done externally or it will be done internal to processor ?
If I have to configure and get an RS485 from one of the UART interface (internal to i.Mx) any external IC to be with it ?
Please help me.
Thanks & Regards,
Nanjunda M
Hi,
SN65HVD3086EDR is good for UART TTL level to RS-485 conversion.

HI Nanjunda
conversion of signals should be done externally
using for example maxim 3430 or similar parts.
Best regards
igor

Hi igor,
Did you mean that, simple RS485 Transceiver will be required for the UART lines taken out from i.Mx6 to act as RS485 ?
Or is it a converter required from RS232 to RS485 ?
Can you please help me with this confusion.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Igor,
i have a doubt,
RS485 transceiver has control signals Receive Enable and Driver enable are to be connected to RTS and CTS pins of i.Mx6
So, Do I need to consider them as GPIO pins or I will have retain them as CTS and RTS ?
If retained as CTS and RTS, Which should be connected to REb and DE ?
Please let me know if you know about this.
Thanks & Regards,
Nanjunda M
