Hi,
Is there in i.MX8M a parallel bus, traditional synchronous or asynchronous bus, with 8/16 data, R/W, CS etc. .I DON't mean a set of GPIOs bit-banged with software. I need this for high speed AD/DA converters. Another suitable bus would be LVDS bur this uP does not support it.
How are LVDS and parallel port in general available in i.MX8 i.MX6 processors.

Hello,
Are those ports strictly dedicated to some purpose or can 'parallel camera interfaces', CSI, LVDS and others be configured to 'other purposes' and programmed to xfer customer formable data?

Hello ristoH,
The CSI and LVDS modules have some flexibility within their protocols, you can find more information on the Reference Manual. In this case I would recommend using the GPIO signals available which provide more flexibility to control as you may please.
I hope this information helps!

Hello ristoH,
The only processor in the i.MX8M extended family with LVDS would be the upcoming i.MX8M Plus, which is still in preproduction. You can find more information on the modules this processor will have available on the following fact sheet:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/fact-sheet/IM8MPLUSFS.pdf
Bigger i.MX8 processors like the i.MX8 and i.MX8X do have LVDS modules and may also support parallel CSI. You can find their Fact Sheets below:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/fact-sheet/IMX8FAMFS.pdf
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/fact-sheet/IMX8XFAMFS.pdf
On the 32-bit processor range, some of the larger i.MX6 processors also have LVDS and many others gave parallel camera interfaces, you can see them on the fact sheet for the i.MX6 family on the link below:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/fact-sheet/IMX6SRSFS.pdf
I hope this information helps!
