Hi,
We've been using IMX8MMINI SOM from Compulab our product development. We're in need of selecting the right Audio DAC/ADC to driver the headphones on our system. We would like to control the volume of it through the I2S/I2C protocol.
Kindly help us to chose the right headphone driver IC for our product.
Hello Abuthahir Tajudeen,
My apologies for the delay. I hope that you have already found the right driver. The UCM-iMX8M-Mini is manufactured and supported by Compulab, so they may be able to provide more recommendations on what headphone driver to use.
From their documentation they are using a WM8731L audio codec for their 3.5mm connector. They should be able to provide the driver for their hardware.

If you need help porting a new driver to the board, there is an i.MX Porting Guide document as part of the i.MX Linux BSP. While this document is centered on NXP’s boards and BSPs, it may provide guidance on how to add drivers to your Linux distribution.
Regards,
