Hello,
I am working on two very similar designs; one that will use the i.MX6Solo and one that will use the i.MX6Quad. Both designs use almost the exact same interfaces (one is essentially a subset of the other) but for one design we need the additional cores of the Quad for additional processing power. Is there an easy way in the IO mux tool to switch the pin out I designed for the i.MX6Solo to the i.MX6Quad (or vise versa)? I see there's an option in the "Device" menu to select between different devices but if I do that to change the device then it starts a new project and erases all of my pin planning. It would be great if there were an easy way to switch between processors so that I know there won't be any conflict in my pin mapping or I won't be using any interfaces that aren't available on the other part.
Thanks!
From the i.MX6Solo to Quad, there is pin to pin compatible design.
The only thing you need to take care is the number of i2c and spi.
D/Q : i2c:3 spi:5
DL/S: i2c:4 spi:4
