Hello!
We're still using i.MX28 / Linux-2.6 with Yocto 1.8 Fido in production. For that build "linux-2.6" repository located at git://git.freescale.com/imx/linux-2.6-imx.git is not available any more. I've seen some messages about repository relocation, however I was not able to find the exact location. Could you please advice what is the right location to fetch linux-imx-2.6.35.3-r45 package. Thank you!
Hello Dmitry Varakin,
The git://git.freescale.com repository was decommissioned, and its contents were moved to the following repositories:
github.com/NXP
github.com/NXPMicro
https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/
The kernel sources in particular can be found on https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx/
You will see that there is a series of branches and both the Community BSP and BSP Releases are present here. Please look for the 2.6.35 release (link below)
My apologies for the inconvenience!
Regards,
Thank you for your answer!
Linux-imx recipie from BSP 1.8 (Fido) originally refers to branch 'imx_2.6.35_maintain', commit 'b3912bb8a4caf3ec50909135e88af959982c43ca'. There's no such commit in a new repository, however I found commit '6d23f5084c975be637f7d748db82116bf84d3872' in branch 'git.kernel.org/linux-stable/linux-2.6.35.y', which has a comment "Linux 2.6.35.3" (same version as in BSP 1.8). However this is a different code, there's even no /arch/arm/mach-mx28/ folder to support i.MX28. Am I missing something?
Hello Dmitry Varakin,
My apologies. It could be that the commit was removed when relocating to the new server for some reason. This is part of the Community BSP so maybe you could ask on their mailing list. I looked at the archives and didn’t found information on this change.
OtavioSalvador, would you know what changes were made on the older kernel branches (like imx_2.6.35_mantain) when the git.freescale repository was decomissioned?
Regards,
