hardware compression using ffmpeg library on i.MX8MP evk

I'm using i.MX8MP evk with BSP 5.4.70.2.3.2, Can we achieve hardware compression with ffmpeg library available on this board?

I found the VPE plugin (used with ffmpeg) in following repositories from VeriSilicon, partner of NXP that provides Hantro VC8000D/VC8000E found in i.MX8MP :

It seems that they tested on iMX8MM. I am curious about how feasible to use it on iMX8MP, too.
