Hello Experts

I am unable to boot imx6ull-evk with windows 10 iot core. When I try to boot the prebuilt images downloaded from the NXP website, I am getting the following error in debug terminal(Screenshot attached). I have tried to boot the following images W1806_1_0_1_MCIMX6ULL-EVK Image and W1809_1_1_0 Prebuilt image for MCIMX6ULL-EVK board. However I am able to flash the images using IOT Core Dashboard on to the microSD card without any error.

Note: I have used sandisk ultra speed class 10 microSD card recommended by the MicroSoft. Also verified flashing the Raspberry Pi FFU onto the SD card and it boots without any issues. SO I assume ther is no issue with microSD card.

Kindly check the logs and letus know the root cause and solution on how to boot the board.

Thank you & Regards

Lokesh

Hello Lokesh,

Is this error shown while booting the board or are you unable to load the image to the SD card?

I would recommend using the latest images from the W1809 release as it fixes a boot problem with the i.MX6ULL. If the problem occurs when writing to the SD card please make sure that you are following the steps on the User’s Guide available on the link below (you may need to login to download this document)

https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=W1809_1_1_0_i.MX_Win10_Users_Guide&appType=license

The newer release images can be downloaded from the following page:

I hope this helps!

Hello Lokesh,

That message signals that Windows 10 IoT is running.

This message is the Windows kernel debugger is attempting to connect over serial, which indicates you are making it into Windows.

Similar to what’s shown on the following community thread:

https://community.nxp.com/thread/526048

I hope this helps!
