Thunderbolt compatible with iMX8MPlus

I am currently working on the iMX8MPlus and I would like to know if the USB 3.0 connected to an USB C connector  could be compatible with the Thunderbolt protocol ?

It could be compatible but the transfer going to be as usb 3.0.

Thank you for you answer, I just need a precision,when you say "transfer going to be as usb 3.0", you mean the data rat ?

I have another question following your answer, do I need to implement something special in hardware/software in order to have the thunderbolt ?
