SAI Codec/DSP mode waveforms

Hi all,

I've been working on a project with the i.MX8 MQ.

The reference manual IMX8MDQLQRM at page 5059 reads:

"The I2S (or I2S) module provides a synchronous audio interface (SAI) that supports fullduplex
serial interfaces with frame synchronization such as I2S, AC97, TDM, and
codec/DSP interfaces"

I found this one (link). At page 4, it explains exactly how the SAI  works in that mode but the document is about another microprocessor.

Question:
Can I assume that the SAI works in the same way in any NXP silicon where it's implemented?
Is there any NXP official document which shows and describes the wave-forms of this specific operation mode for the iMX8MQ?

Thanks and kind regards,

Alessandro

Hello,

We do not suggest to see other documentation that is from another completely different chip. What I suggest you is to see the i.MX8MQ reference manual on the SAI part of the product. There you could find everything that is needed to understand how the SAI peripheral works in the i.MX8MQ.

Please see section13.8 page 5501 of the i.MX8MQ reference manual.

Best regards,

Diego.
