Have you followed all the previous steps on the i.MX Yocto Project User’s Guide?
Would you please share the error that comes after trying to run the repo sync command? Or does it just hangs? Please make sure that you have Internet access and that the ports for the git protocol are open. It is common for corporative firewalls to restrict these ports, which may lead to problems synching the repos.
